What software do I use for digital scenery?

There is a wide variety of playback software and hardware options available for programming and operating digital scenery. Among these options is Broadway Media's StagePlayer. StagePlayer was specifically created to operate Scenic Projections and digital backdrops. It was designed to be easy to use even with the most limited tech knowledge and without requiring any additional hardware.

Other playback software programs (such as QLab or ProPresenter) offer robust functionality, but were not designed with the primary function of operating many, large files needed for an hour or more of live performance. Video content usually requires heavy data processing and computing power. While other software provides features in integrating the audio, lighting, and video components, we find that the video processing is not the key feature.

StagePlayer was designed with one thing in mind: being the most reliable and easy-to-use cloud-based media server for video during live performances. StagePlayer was built on the same platform as a popular television streaming software that enables users with limited hardware to do high-powered computing. This means Broadway Media customers are able to use an extremely reliable, show-ready software on nearly any computer that completely eliminates video latency.

With that being said, if you consider yourself an advanced video content programmer - or if you have a more integrated physical setup - you do have the option to upgrade to our professional license.
