Can StagePlayer connect to an existing QLab workspace?

Note: QLab integration is only available for our Professional License at this time.

When using the Scenic Projections Professional License, you'll be able to integrate StagePlayer with QLab.

First, head to broadwaymedia.com to download StagePlayer.

Hover over [Resources] and select [Downloads].

Resources Tab

On the next page, wait for the [Try Beta] button to load. It may take up to 30 seconds to appear. Click on this button to download the latest version of the software.

Try Beta

If you already have a previous version of StagePlayer, downloading this version will automatically override the old version. If you are trying to use the QLab integration feature on an older version of StagePlayer, follow this tutorial instead.

Once downloaded, open StagePlayer and then download your content using the green [Download] button.

Green Download Button

Once downloaded, you will have a green button labeled [Open with QLab].

Open with QLab Button

Before you click this button, open QLab with a new workspace. Unfortunately StagePlayer cannot send content to an existing QLab workspace.

Note: You must be on QLab 5!

Blank QLab Workspace

Now, press the [Open with QLab] button in StagePlayer. You will receive a pop-up, asking for a password.

QLab Password

This password can be found by clicking the gear icon in the lower right corner of your QLab workspace.

This will open up your workspace settings. Click on [Network].

Then click on [OSC Access].

OSC Access QLab

Here, you will find your passcode.

Type in the passcode and hit the green [Confirm] button.

You should see all of your content appear, pre-programmed in that new QLab workspace.

Feel free to make whatever adjustments you like within QLab!

Tips and Tricks

  • While working in QLab, leave StagePlayer up and running in the background. Closing it will result in the projections being removed from QLab after a few minutes.
  • If you're experiencing black flashes at the start of a video cue, use QLab's "Auto-load" feature for that specific cue. This will get rid of those flashes!
