Installing and Removing the Lens - Basic Stage Projector

This guide will walk you through the steps of how to install and remove the lens for our Basic Stage Projector.

Attaching the Lens

Before you begin, be sure to note how your equipment arrived in its shipping container. You’ll need to put it back the same way when you are ready to return it. It’s a great idea to take a photo of how it looks in the roadcase prior to removing anything! Then you’ll be a pro when it comes to packing up during strike.

Tip: Installing at a table with a chair will make the process much easier and more comfortable.

Step 1: Be safe! Make sure the Basic Stage Projector is powered off and seated on a flat table. Unplug the power cord from the projector before attaching the lens. To help keep the lens clean and protected, please avoid touching it with bare hands.

Step 2: Gently remove the two cavity covers from the projector. First is the black square shaped one on top of the projector, this pulls straight out towards you. The next cover is a clear square that covers the lens socket, pull this straight out towards you. Keep those in the roadcase so you don’t lose them.

Important: Please be sure not to lift the projector by the cavity cover, as it can break.

Step 3: Ensure the locking lever is slid to the Release position (as shown in the image below) until you hear it click.

Step 4: Remove the styrofoam lid from the lens and store it in the roadcase. There is a small circular cover that covers the part that slides inside the lens socket, and a larger square cover that covers the lens itself! Keep those in the roadcase so you don’t lose them. Cradle the lens in your arm and carry it to the Basic Stage Projector.

Step 5: Gently insert the lens straight into the projector's lens socket with the white dot facing up. You may need to put the slightest touch of pressure on the back of the lens to keep it from tilting towards you (as shown below).

Step 6: Hold the lens firmly and slide the locking lever to the Lock position (as shown) until it has no further space to go. If it is resisting, gently apply and release pressure at the top of the lens until you feel it sit into place. You will know it’s seated properly when the lock is engaged and it doesn’t move in any direction.

Make Sure The Locking Lever Is In Lock Position - May Need To Apply Slight Pressure To Have It Sit Right.

Step 7: You did it! You can now hang your Basic Stage Projector if you are mounting it. Once powered on and if prompted, select Yes to calibrate the lens.

Removing the Lens

Caution: Remove the lens only when necessary and make sure the front of the projector is not facing up when you remove the lens. This prevents dirt or dust from entering the projector and lowering the projection quality. Avoid touching the lens with your bare hands to prevent fingerprints on or damage to the lens surface.

We recommend using the same table setup as install. Sitting at a table with a chair will make the process much easier and more comfortable. Make sure you have your roadcase opened and your covers ready to place back onto the projector cavity as well as both lens covers.

Step 1: Just like with installation, we want you to be safe! Make sure the Basic Stage Projector is powered off and seated on a flat table. Unplug the power cord from the projector before attaching the lens. To help keep the lens clean and protected, please avoid touching it with bare hands.

Step 2: Hold the lens firmly as you slide the locking lever to the Release position until you hear it click.

Step 3: Gently pull the lens straight out of the projector, be sure to cradle it with both hands.
